The Index is materially a calculation of inflation in a basket of goods, but without taking into account the most mobile inflationary components – electricity, fuel, and provision. Because these two indicators can vary efficiently in price (depending on various seasons and situational factors), they are often “cut off” in order to get the exact inflation rate. Thus, together with IPC it displays some necessary information concerning its core, which helps to analyze how inflation rate has changed during accounting period.
