Chicago PMI index

Chicago PMI index

Posted by Trader On January - 13 - 2009

The Index is calculated on the basis of managers’ survey according to purchases in Chicago industrial sector. The Index displays the situation in a segment of: factory orders, goods prices and inventories in storehouses.
When the indicator reaches the mark lower than 50, it means some deceleration in US economy, but when it reaches more than 50, it will show the increase of country’s economy. The Chicago PMI Index is taken into consideration by the bidders, because it is published not long before an announcement of Confidence Indicator which is calculated by the Research Institute of demand and supply (ISM Index). Due to dynamics of employment within the Chicago PMI, we can judge by future report in the labor market (Nonfarm payrolls). The value of the Index is published by the Purchasing Managers Association of Chicago every last month’s working day.
